071. We move on now to Deritend, an inner city area to the South East of the city centre which I had to walk through to get to my hotel (a good 20 minute walk!). This shows the Custard Factory complex which used to be home to Birds Custard, however it has fortunately been saved from the bulldozers and converted into an alternative retail village, a fascinating place with different buildings and odd shops.
072. A beautiful Vespa scooter outside one of the best shops I've ever been in - selling retro stuff from the 60s. It contained an exhibition of 60s furniture, superb!
073. The Custard Factory.
074. Birmingham's Chinatown area.
075. This building used to be the bus station but is now a TK Maxx store. It also serves as a link between the Bullring and the New Street Station - it is possible to walk between the far end of the Bullring and New Street Station without venturing outside!
076. The Pallasades Centre which is above New Street station.

089. The massive bulk of the International Convention Centre somewhat spoils this canalside view.
090. A roundabout complete with signpost marks this junction of the canal!
