New College, Southampton - The End
New College, Southampton, is currently in
the process of being demolished. I will endeavour to take photos of the
demolition to record the sad passing of this institution.

I was passing the campus and noticed loads
of people flooding out of the church next door onto the site (where I think they
had cars parked). Being an opportunist, I mingled with the crowd and
sneaked onto the site until a Security guard told me to leave the site

from Archer's Road, the last part of the Avenue Building can be seen in
the background where the swimming pool used to be in the foreground. |
The
remains of the Debrabant block can be seen to the left. The building
containing the gyms and boiler room has gone completely, as have the
various ramshackle outbuildings nearby |
The
last part of the Avenue Building, viewed from just inside the main
entrance at the SE of the site. I am very disappointed that
this has been pulled down as it is a nice old building and could easily
have been converted into apartments or offices.
